CraftGeek Fun for Celeste’s Birthday Blog Hop

CraftGeek Ballerina Card with Wind It Roll It and Pin ItHappy Birthday to our friend Celeste!  To help celebrate we are hopping along in this blog hop and Celeste is giving away some Purple Cows CraftGeek Tools and other fun stuff.  Leave a comment on all of the blogs in the hop to enter to win!  If you are following the hop, go HERE –  www.uniquemoniquecreating.com – next.

To make our birthday card, I used the same CraftGeek tools Celeste will be giving away:  Pin It, Roll It and Wind It.  I wanted to create a card that would remind me of Celeste–something fun, whimsical and feminine.

CraftGeek Wind It for creating the pieces for the card

I started with some pink wire and the CraftGeek Wind it to create 3 different wire pieces.

Adding a little color to the edge of the newsprint with CraftGeek Roll It

Next I played with some newsprint strips from an old catalog. After tearing them, I used CraftGeek Roll It to give the edges some color.

Two Skirt Pieces for the CraftGeek Blog Hop Card

I created the skirt pieces by fan folding the newsprint really narrowly, then I used a staple to hold the top together until I was ready to glue.

Here's a look at how the pieces will come together

Here’s the pieces laid out together.

CraftGeek Ballerina Blog Hop Card is almost finished

Things are starting to come together. I used a paper flower for a background for the bottlecap head, then added a Solstice Pin for her body using CraftGeek Pin It. Next I used a hot glue gun to attach the wire pieces, and finally I glued on the skirt.

Crafting a beautiful Ballerina Card with Purple Cows CraftGeek Tools

To finish up, I added a ribbon tie at her waist and a simple Happy Birthday Sticker to the bottom of the card.

I have to admit, I sort of LOVE this card.  The gorgeous colors from American Crafts papers were a perfect juxtapostition with the newsprint and bottle cap.  Check out the rest of the amazing blogs in the hop and be sure to wish Celeste a Happy Birthday!!
